Our goal is to provide space for artists, musicians, and creative professionals to gather. Our focus is on bringing dynamic voices to the forefront and provide a space for them to perform, network and build a community that will sustain their practice. We aspire to change the perception of what artists and their mediums are capable of- their place in the world and the changes they can affect.
Undertone Arts began as an unincorporated, all volunteer group of passionate creatives looking to connect with others around their shared love of live performance. From that passion and work, ONETWOHEARTU was born.
In 2021, during our inaugural event, we hosted over a dozen bands- including local, regional and national- in downtown Peekskill, and celebrated with over 600 neighbors and attendees. The overwhelmingly positive feedback we received has been a rallying cry, inspiring us to continue to grow.
2022 saw the addition of a monthly music series. Between the music series and year two of the festival, which became two full days, ONETWOHEARTU featured more women and LGBTQ artists than other similar organizations in the region. Making space one and off the stage for marginalized groups is one of our driving forces. We are committed to featuring a diverse assortment of artists and showcasing New Music.
2023 was another amazing year. We added monthly shows at the Green Growler in Croton, leading up to our summer series starting in June and going through August, culminating with year 3 of our festival in September.
In 2024, we took a strategic pause as we worked to set up systems that would ensure our work continues, becoming a NYS incorporated 501 (c)(3) organization. Now, as Undertone Arts, ONETWOHEARTU and other exciting, future programming will have a solid, permanent foundation to continue to grow from.
